Everything you always wanted to know about me, but were afraid to ask!!

GUIDING/SCOUTING

I have been a volunteer in my town for the past 7 years. I spent two years as a Spark Leader and one year as a Brownie Leader. I then switched to the Scouting movement. I was a Cub Leader for two years and this is my second year as a Scout Leader. This year I am also the Akela in the Cub Unit.

HIKING/CAMPING

I enjoy hiking and camping with the cubs and scouts that I volunteer with. My family is also very big into camping. I have seen to some great sights with a pack on my back.

SOFTBALL

I have played minor recreational softball for the past 5-6 summers. The league I am in has eight teams with around 15-16 players each. I play Sundays and either Tuesday or Thursday nights. I play in at least three tournaments each summer, sometimes more. The positions I like to play are backstop/catcher or third base.

HOBBIES

During my spare time (which there isn't much of!) I like to knit, cross-stitch and read. I've made some really nice cross-stitch patterns.

PROFESSIONAL

I am a professional Desktop Publisher with the provincial department I work for. My job is to prepare manuscripts and geological maps for publication. I use Quark XPress for this. I am also responsible for maintaining the webpage for the department. I use Microsoft FrontPage for this task. I also use CorelDraw and WordPerfect in some aspects of my work.

MISCELLANEOUS

I am a mother of two; a boy and a girl. My son is 14 years old and in grade nine. My daughter is 12 (soon to be 13) and in grade seven. I have been happily married for 16 years to a wonderful man.

I like role-playing games on the computer. I am also addicted to mah-jong! I like funny television programs (Frazier and Raymond come to mind). But I also like documentaries and serious stuff as well (The Fifth Estate, 60 minutes, etc.). I think I was the only person alive who didn't like/watch Seinfeld. That show was crazy! I also have no time for The Simpsons. (Absolutely the worst show on the television - in my opinion).

This past summer I have taken an interest in gardening. Trying to make the acre of ground that I live on more attractive is very expensive and time-consuming. Don't know how I'll do with that just yet.
